Circle City BMX Volunteers Needed

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Circle City BMX is ran and maintained completely by volunteers and we're always looking for help. We need you physically on race day and to help with track maintenance thru out the season, but if your schedule doesn't    permit we understand.  We can always use donations of money, goods, and/or services. Talk to one of our board    members or our track directory to see how you or your company can help. We look forward to a great 2010                     season with lots of great family fun. We can't do it without your help and we thank you in advance!

We need to fill the following volunteer positions at every race in order to run the race. The announcer will ask for  volunteers and you can sign up at the registration office. If you're not sure what the position requires, ask a   Board Member in a red shirt. We can train you and we need your help.

Corner Marshals: Three corner marshals are required per race. They stand on the top of each of the three corners of            the track. They are responsible for monitoring the conduct of the riders on the track and signaling the referee and other               race officials with flags when a rider is down or when there are conditions that warrant the attention of the officials.

Yellow Flag: Indicates the location of a dangerous condition on the track that riders should avoid, i.e. a down rider.          Riders continue to race under yellow.

Red Flag: Indicated that the race has been stopped. Riders return to the starting gate.

Scorers: Three scorers are required per race. The scorers are responsible for writing the finish position of every rider                   as he crosses the finish line in each race. The official finish positions of each race are determined by a majority of the                finish line scorers.

Stager:  The staging official maintains order in the staging lanes and helps the racers progress to the starting gate.             A visiual check for proper safety equipment is done in staging. The stager announces moto numbers, age groups,           and checks the rider's names on moto sheets.

Announcer:  The announcer officites with commentary over the PA systen once the race gate drops until the last                   rider crossed the finish line! The Announcer also lets the rider know when the Moto & Main's are posted on the board                before races start.

Concessions; 50/50 raffle ticket sales; t-shirt sales:   We can also always use help at conncessions,                     with the 50/50 raffle, and at the t-shirt table. Come on by and lend a hand. The track concession stand is one of the                  most important volunteer positions we have because concessions are the main source of revenue for the track.                          The funds raised from the many, many, many burgers, dogs, Gatorades, chili, hot chocolates, etc. that all of our                   generous and hungry riders, family, and friends purchase pay for 100% of the track maintenance, utilities,                            trophies, give-a ways, and the year end banquet.

Sponsership Coordinators: Circle City BMX needs your help selling sponsership packages to allow us to                    maintain the track on a yearly basis. If you have sales experiance or just plain like to talk to people, man do we                          have an oppertunity  for you! See one of our track dirrector or board member for sponsership details.
